NCW FACE/OFF this Saturday night

FACE/OFF logo

The 2009 Season is drawing to a close as we head towards NCW WrestleFest V on Friday, December 11th in West Warwick, RI. Before we arrive there, however, NCW makes its debut at the Presbyterian Church Hall in Needham, MA on Saturday, November 7th for FACE/OFF.

FACE/OFF will be a huge night for NCW, as it features the first ever meeting between “The Portuguese Sensation” Ruy Battello and “Dynamite” Doug Summers. Two former Heavyweight Champions, both men have been a symbol for the promotion, and on November 7th we see NCW’s past against NCW’s present.

After inserting foot firmly in mouth, JC Marxxx finally gets what’s coming to him when he’s forced to WRESTLE against the winner of the 2009 Big City Rumble and David Marxxx-Loomis’ WrestleFest opponent Richard Pacifico. Pacifico lasted ten minutes against Loomis at Hostile Takeover, winning the stipulation that if he could beat the clock, he’d get Marxxx in a wrestling match one-on-one, with David Loomis barred from ringside for the contest.

Since May, the boys from Schillar Park have made life hell for Mike Volpe. Even with the alliance between Volpe and “The Knight Angel” BerZerker, Volpe has found himself at the tail end of a Schillar Park beatdown at every turn. At FACE/OFF Volpe will once again team up with BerZerker when they take on The Posse, but with BerZerker’s recent troubles with “The Devil’s Reject” Brandon Webb and his mysterious satchel, is his head in the right place?

Generation SLAM finally regained the NCW Tag Team Championship in Dedham when they defeated their rivals The Heatseekers following their victory in the 4th Tag Team Invitational. Unfortunately “Revolution” Chris Venom has been disputing the victory from the moment the match was over after a second referee was brought into the match when official Shawn O’Vincent was laid out. Despite Venom’s legal inquiries Gen SLAM is set to defend their newly won Titles November 7th in Needham!

The reigning NCW New England Champion picked up a giant victory at Hostile Takeover when “The Showoff” Mike Paiva defeated Rob “The Giant” with a fist full of quarters after Paiva issued an open challenge to anyone in the locker room in Dedham. At FACE/OFF “The Innovator of Sleeze” puts forth another New England Championship LOCKUP, with not only anyone in NCW, but anyone in New England to get a shot at his Title.

PLUS NCW Heavyweight Champion David Marxxx-Loomis will be in Non-Title action as we warms up for WrestleFest… ALSO featuring Triplelicious, Dean “The Beast” Livsley, “The Obsession” Ray Diamond, Buddy Romano, Tim Kilgore and MORE!

King Richard’s Faire

This weekend was easily one of the better I’ve had in awhile. Saturday morning I went to JC’s place in Pawtucket bright and early for an NCW creative meeting. We’re finishing off the 2007-2008 season very soon, and we’re really trying to step things up for next season. Upgrades will hopefully be happening in our planning, storylines, gimmicks, and overall production value. I’m very excited to be moving forward in a more cohesive, business-like manner than we have in the past. It should make a big difference in the product that we present.

Saturday afternoon Mikey and Stacey came over. We went out to dinner at Friday’s (the cherry limeade slush is my new favorite thing) then came back here to watch Iron Man, hi-def of course…I’m loving Blu-ray. They stayed the night because on Sunday…

…we went to King Richard’s Faire. This was a first for me, and a first in awhile for them. We’d meant to go for years, but one thing or another always prevented it. This year the weather was absolutely beautiful, a perfect day to go. We got there right at the opening at 10:30 am and met up with Matt and Sarah inside. While we were waiting for their friends Brian and Mary to show up, Matt and I attempted to climb “Jacob’s Ladder”, which was much harder than it appeared. Neither of us could pull it off. Some of the other things we saw were the opening of the joust competition, “The Mud Show“, and the “Aerial Angels.” Overall it was a fun event, but not something to visit every year. I heard a lot of the stuff was very similar to years prior. The food prices were outrageous as well (turkey leg: $9.50 / small lemonade: $3.50), so myself, Mikey, and Stacey all waited until we left to eat.

Today was very low-key. I shopped for groceries, made my protein snacks for the week, and had plenty of time to make myself a nice chicken parmesan for dinner. I should have leftovers for a day or two with that one. Gonna need to play around with the recipe a little bit too. I winged it and it was good, but it could be better. Back to work tomorrow!
