Thanks to pix, I think I have a great idea for a cheap, fairly easy Halloween costume. I’m going to be Tony Stark from Iron Man.
All I need to do is get some cheap glowy circles that I already found online, cut the chestpiece pattern out and put it on top, then sew a pocket inside the shirt to keep the chest piece in place. I’m growing out the facial scruff now so I can do the whole goatee thing too. Now if only I could find an Iron Man glove that wasn’t a kid’s size I could put some wires from the chest piece to the glove and it would be totally complete.

So this year I was pretty gung-ho about finally wearing a Batman costume for Halloween. I had a whole plan: buy the suit, get a better mask, get some black vinyl gloves cause the suit doesn’t cover the hands, and make a custom cape cause the one that comes with the suit looks crappy. If I’m going to finally be Batman, I can’t half-ass it. The problem is that all this will cost me roughly 80-90 bucks. I have a hard time justifying paying that much for any costume, unless I’d be getting like a movie replica or something. The other issue is I’m already working on getting my new wrestling gear, which could end up being kinda pricey, but it’s the one thing I’ve really planned on spending money on. So, the question is, can I do Batman and still keep the price low without sacrificing the quality of the costume? And if not, what else could I be that won’t set me back a ton? Ideas are VERY welcome.
