So yesterday was my birthday…29 years old…yikes. Last night I had an awesome time at the Shinedown/Puddle of Mudd/Skillet concert. During the day I spent most of my time continuing work on my new site, The Geek Generation. Aside from writing the kinds of great, unique articles we have, a lot of that time is spent checking RSS and Twitter feeds from major news sites and filtering what makes it through to my page. I also follow a decent amount of celebrities on Twitter and on occasion have gotten some correspondence back from them. I figured that because this was my first birthday since creating a Twitter account, I’d shamelessly ask for birthday wishes from some of the celebrities I follow and see if they were actually willing to wish someone a happy birthday despite the onslaught of messages and requests they most likely receive. I’m happy to say that out of the 5 celebs I messaged, I actually got 3 responses back!! That’s a pretty decent percentage, so right here I’m going to personally thank those three and provide the evidence that it actually happened.

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. I honestly didn’t expect them from so many people. I spent the day with The League as previously mentioned. Underworld: Evolution was badass, a great continuation of the original. After seeing the movie and playing some Guitar Hero, I headed home for dinner with the family. Since my dad’s birthday is on the 31st, we celebrated his too so my brother wouldn’t have to make too many trips down. They brought Rocket with them. This was my first time seeing him since the amputation surgery. It was a little odd to see at first, but he’s noticeably happier and in much less pain than before. Very good to see. All and all, things are looking up…a great day. Best birthday in awhile.
